Three-Part Harmony: What to Listen For, Which Notes to Sing
presented by Muse Crossing: Shawn Dohring, Michèle Voillequé & Mark Walstrom
Music Three 12:00-1:00
Great three-part singing is magical, moving and can be hard to come by. Come learn why some notes work and others don't, and how to find the ones that do. This workshop is designed for singers eager to improve their harmony skills – perfection is not expected. Muse Crossing will demonstrate songs in a few diiferent styles and then teach some common three-part harmonies, showing how to apply them in real life. There will be sheet music for folks who like that sort of thing.
Muse Crossing is Shawn Dohring, Michèle Voillequé and Mark Walstrom – three very different musicians who share a passion for singing. We play eclectic arrangements of folk, popular, and classical songs, always with an emphasis on tight vocal harmony. We have many inspirations, but mostly we choose beautiful songs that we can make our own. We record like we perform: in one room, listening to each other. Our latest CD, Crossed Lines, is available for download from CDBaby.
"Muse Crossing covers are like seeing an old friend that you remember being kind of pretty, and noticing she is now radiant and gorgeous." – R. N.
