Sing A Round! (2018 program)

Dale Allen Boland
Music 3 – Rm 219 / 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

This is an opportunity to enjoy the exhilaration of singing rounds. The focus will be on well-known or easy to learn rounds, taught orally. Participants are welcome to request/teach rounds which are simple for all to learn and enjoy right away.

As a child, Dale Allen Boland learned the usual rounds like, “Frere Jacques,” “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” “Make New Friends,” and “White Coral Bells” and she still loves singing them. But twenty years ago, she joined in one of Kate Munger’s round-singing circles and discovered the amazing new rounds being written by contemporary composers. Dale started her own round-singing circle in Berkeley which has been meeting monthly ever since.

Dale is trained in Orff-Schulwerk, and recently became a Board Certified Music Therapist, which is a fancy way of saying that Dale believes learning and making music should be both natural and fun.
