Storytellers Ed Silberman, Ann Riley, and Cassie Cushing will take you to a varied Celtic world where fairytale, myth, and the everyday are one. Go undersea with the Silkies, or underground with fairies, or roam and meander the hills where “magic” is happenstance. Once upon a time could be anytime; enjoy the journey.
Cassie Cushing tells myths and folktales for modern adult and young adult audiences. She finds the personal in the traditional and creates unique retellings, entering the world of “Once upon a time” to go beyond happily ever after. She owns Kaleidoscope Coffee, a storytelling cafe in Richmond, California.
Ann Riley says that she has been telling stories ever since she first needed an alibi. She is a past board member of the Storytelling Association of California and is a busy teller at the Asian Art Museum.
Ed Silberman fell under the spell of the Irish when he was just 17.He’s not sure if it was hearing a tune on the radio or meeting that leprechaun. Either way, he says, it’s been a fun ride.
Presented by the Storytelling Association of California (SAC).
