Dave Pokorny and Robin Whealdon will lead a special two-hour session. In the first hour, sit back and enjoy the stories. We have invited three traditional storytellers and three personal narrative storytellers to each tell one of their best 10-minute stories.
During the next 30 minutes of this unique presentation, all six tellers along with a facilitator will discuss the similarities as well as the differences in the process of choosing, writing, and performing these different styles of story. We will finish with Q&A from the audience.
For a decade, award-winning storyteller/humorist/dad Dave Pokorny was one of the most sought after opening acts in comedy. He’s the host/co-creator/co-producer of the longest running StorySlam in Northern California — the award-winning West Side Stories Petaluma — and The Wine Country Spoken Word Festival.
Robin Whealdon is a storyteller and artist living in west Sonoma County. The old legends and fairytales inform her artwork and inspire her to bring storytelling to gatherings and schools. She is currently exploring the stories of her ancestry in the British Isles.
Presented by the Storytelling Association of California (SAC).
