This workshop celebrates Irish history as expressed through the voices of songs the Sean Nos way. Workshop attendees will begin learning a traditional Irish song in Irish Gaelic taught through a Zoom presentation of an Irish experience. From the wild mountains to the soggy turf, we’ll travel an Irish road, Amelia will add in some anecdotal historical context, lore, and background and then open the floor up for round-robin sharing in the second half. Come to learn and listen. Bring an a capella song to share if we have time. This is open to beginners.
Amelia Hogan sings traditional Irish, Scottish, British American, and Contemporary folk music with lilting graces and a subtle power. Haunting melodies, and evocative storytelling is what you’ll find. Slàinte!
