Banjo Hangout (2021 program)

David Brown
Stairwell 1
Jam Room / 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Not a workshop, jam, or concert — just a gathering of banjo players sharing their latest obsessions. Come play those solo banjo tunes that you never get to play because they are in unusual tunings, are not fiddle-friendly, or are from genres where banjos are rarely seen. Or discuss those topics that are of absolutely no interest to anyone but a banjo player.

David Brown is a versatile instrumentalist, playing banjo, guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. He’s been at the heart of the Bay Area old-time music community for over 30 years, and also has a deep love for Quebecois, English country dance (Playford Clawhammer, anyone?), string ragtime, and many other types of music.
