Mehrbani is a band that plays Persian classical and folk music.
In the Persian language, Mehrbani (the name of the band) means kindness. In addition, it refers to one of the special intervals used in Persian classical music.
The four band members and the instruments they play are:
- Shahab Shokravi plays the taar (a long-necked, waisted lute family instrument)
- Keyvan Niyazmand plays the santoor (a trapezoid-shaped hammered dulcimer)
- Leila Viand plays the kamanche (a bowed string instrument whose strings are played with a variable-tension bow.)
- Amirali Alaee plays the tombak (a goblet drum)
Hope you enjoy it!
