Songs from a Hat is a fast-paced interactive music game for people who know a lot of songs! Songs from any genre are welcome. The emcee will read out a word that’s frequently heard in songs. You get a point if you name a song that contains the target word, a second point if you can SING the line that contains the word, and a bonus point if no other player came up with the same song. Keep your own score, or don’t keep score at all; just come and play!
Casey is usually found singing a cappella songs from the oral tradition at in-person venues in the SF Bay Area and online venues like the Mudcat Worldwide Singaround, Spring Harmony, and Fall Songs. Early in the pandemic, she began running the music-based game Songs From a Hat at online events of the San Francisco Folk Music Club and the Portland Folk Music Society, and singers keep coming back for more!
