The Adrian West Trio is the “intimate” version of Adrian West Band, an Oakland-based acoustic rock ensemble. Think “Paul Simon meets Talking Heads.” A fun mix of folk/pop originals, featuring vocal harmonies, acoustic guitar, upright bass, percussion. Adrian likes his songs to stand on their own musically, so his approach to songwriting is music first, lyrics second. Whether telling a silly story or grappling with some challenge facing humanity, his lyrics are infused with equal parts hope, clear-eyed realism and lighthearted whimsy.
