There are songs of the pleasures of love, the finding of love, unrequited love, the heartbreaks of love, and the stories of lovers, old and new. Come and sing or listen; bring your favorite love songs.
Sadie comes from a folk music background in Vermont, and she has sung all her life. She likes the old songs, and ballads (mostly those collected by Professor Francis Child), and she collects and studies the origins and meanings of traditional songs and folklore. For several years, Sadie broadcast a weekly streaming radio show, on which she discussed and shared her research on all of the ballads in Child, playing several different versions of most of them. She enjoys talking about the ballads, and learning new versions from recordings and from the many singers who frequent singing zooms. She is also an artist, a grandmother, a writer, and a big reader, and she lives with her husband Grover beside the Russian River in California.
