The Mercy Kit is an Americana band from the East Bay that performs original music influenced by alt-country, southwestern folk, outlaw country, Celtic, and traditional forms to create evocative stories and indelible snapshots. Formed in 2014, The Mercy Kit has played in venues throughout the Bay Area (and sometimes beyond).
With Matt Heller on vocals and rhythm guitar, Kevin McCarthy on lead guitar and vocals, Jennifer Choi on vocals, Steve Bollhoefer on violin, and Bett Bollhoefer on cello, The Mercy Kit combines gritty songwriting, three-part harmonies, and haunting strings. Live, they mix their original material with an eclectic and joyful array of cover material.
