Participatory old-time tune jam for all levels and all appropriate instruments (i.e., fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, etc.). Bring instruments! No materials and no advance preparation. Listeners are welcome, too.
Tony Phillips has played fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and other stringed instruments in numerous oldtime, bluegrass, klezmer, and other bands over the years. He currently leads the Berkeley Old Time Music Convention’s monthly old-time jams at the Berkeley Public Library, main branch, on third Tuesdays, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
He will be accompanied by a several friends, possibly including David Brown, Kerry Parker, Daniel Hersh, and Stephanie Costanza.
