English Music Hall Songs

Jim Partridge & Ellen Hoffman
Music 3 – Rm 219 / 1:00 - 2:00

The English Music Hall was the workingman’s entertainment in Victorian and Edwardian times. Songs were, by turn, raucous, bawdy, funny, sentimental, patriotic, maudlin and, above all, singable and fun. Sing-along. Bring sheet music if you would like to lead a song.

Jim Partridge has been singing with the a cappella men’s group Brass Farthing for the past 10 years, and with other folk groups before that.

Ellen Hoffman is a pianist and composer who has performed with, composed for, and arranged for folk, classical, jazz and gospel artists.
